Issue/Introduction

  • User creates or edits a NAT rule from VMware Cloud Director (VCD) under, Resources > Cloud Resources > Edge Gateways > Selected Edge Gateway > Services > NAT > Rules:

 

  • They hit the error in the UI:

    External IP #.#.#.#-#.#.#.# for NAT should belong to the sub-allocated IP range #.#.#.#-#.#.#.# of the edge gateway

Environment

  • VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1.1

Cause

User is trying to create a NAT Rule in NSX for an IP address or range of IP addresses which do not exist on the list of Allocated IPs found under:

Provider Portal > Resources > Cloud Resources > Edge Gateways > Specified Edge Gateway > IP Management > IP Allocations

Resolution

User to ensure that all IPs associated with a NAT Rule from the NSX Edge are in an Allocated Range for VMware Cloud Director.
