How to Import Existing Aria Operations and Aria Operations for Logs into Aria Suite Lifecycle

Issue/Introduction

After deploying a new Aria Suite Lifecycle (ASL) environment, it becomes necessary to import existing deployments of VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations Manager) and VMware Aria Operations for Logs (formerly vRealize Log Insight) into ASL for centralized management.

Resolution

Importing Aria Operations:

  1. Log in to the Aria Suite Lifecycle UI.
  2. Navigate to the section for Environments or Lifecycle Operations.
  3. On the Create Environment page, open the product card and select the VMware Aria Operations check box.
  4. Select the Import option and then click Next.
  5. Specify the following details for your existing Aria Operations Master Node:
    • Master Node FQDN
    • Root User Password
    • Admin User Password
  6. Select the appropriate vCenter instance where the Aria Operations VM is deployed.
  7. Click Next and carefully review the summary information provided.
  8. Click Submit to initiate the import process.

Importing Aria Operations for Logs:

  1. Log in to the Aria Suite Lifecycle UI.
  2. Navigate to the section for Environments or Lifecycle Operations.
  3. On the Create Environment page, open the product card and select the VMware Aria Operations for Logs check box.
  4. Select the Import option and then click Next.
  5. Specify the following details for your existing Aria Operations for Logs Master Node:
    • Master Node FQDN
    • Root User Password
    • Admin User Password
  6. Select the appropriate vCenter instance where the Aria Operations for Logs VM is deployed.
  7. Click Next and carefully review the summary information provided.
  8. Click Submit to initiate the import process.

Note: These steps can be combined if placing in the same environment.
