VLCR Connectors offline due to BGP status down and advertised routes exceeding the maximum limit

Issue/Introduction

• VLCR connectors show disconnected from the Orchestrator (iRR)
• Private network configured using AWS Direct Connect in Protected site. 
• Under Private connection, DX VIF shows 'attached' but the BGP status shows 'Down'

Environment

VMware Live Cyber Recovery 7.27.x

Environments using AWS DX for private connection

Cause

The DX VIF advertised routes exceeded the maximum limit of 100, causing BGP and AWS Direct Connect status to show as down. Refer DX Quotas for more information.

Resolution

Ensure you have met all the pre-requisites while configuring direct connect for private connection. Refer Configure direct connect(Private VIF)

Engage AWS support 

1. Verify the current number of advertised routes for the BGP session.
2. Reduce the route count below the maximum limit of 100.
3. Confirm BGP status returns to 'Up'.
