Error: "The certificate with sha [SHA-256:##:##:##:##:##...] is already registered for client authentication"

Issue/Introduction

• When you try to connect a Tunnel appliance to an existing Cloud service you get an error "The certificate with sha [SHA-256:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:] is already registered for client authentication" 

Environment

VMware Cloud director Availability 4.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the Tunnel appliance you're trying to connect to was connected in the past to another Cloud service which had the same certificate.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, deploy a new tunnel appliance and connect the cloud service to the new tunnel following the documentation Configure the Cloud Service in the Cloud Director site
