Manually Remove Failed NSX Edge Nodes and Clusters Deployed by SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

Due to unexpected conditions,  SDDC may fail to deploy and configure edge nodes in NSX, which would require manual removal of the NSX edge node /edge cluster. 

 

Note:  VCF NSX-T Edge Cluster Deployment Removal Tool does NOT apply in this scenario.

Environment

VMware SDDC

VMware NSX

Cause

Unassigned edge nodes/edge clusters have no reference to any other NSX objects and require manual cleanup

Resolution

1. Log in to the NSX Manager UI.
   
   
2. Navigate to Fabric > Nodes.
   
   
3. Delete the stale Edge Cluster.
   
   
4. Delete the stale Edge Transport Nodes.
