Adapter instance does not trigger alert and cannot be monitored in Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

• Adapter instances are not triggering alerts when symptoms are present.
• The alert is not enabled in any policy.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

In order for an alert to trigger a notification, it needs to be enabled on a policy which the adapter instance is part of.

Resolution

Activate the alert on the appropriate policies as per the document below;

• Activating and Deactivating Alerts

 

Additional Information

It is possible to see how many policies an alert is enabled on by checking the alert definition. At the bottom of the alert definition, the number of policies where the alert is active is stated, see the screenshot below;
