Issue/Introduction

  • Error: "NO NETWORKING DETECTED. PLEASE LOGIN AND RUN THE COMMAND /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net TO CONFIGURE THE NETWORK."

  • No IPv4 Address and Gateway configured using vami_config_net utility.
    /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net
  • vAPP properties of the appliance and network configuration file /etc/systemd/network/10-eth0.network had right IP Address configured.
  • Configuring IP address using vami_config_net utility fails.

Environment

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

Any additional file created in the directory /etc/systemd/network apart from preconfigured system files (10-eth0.network and 10-eth0.network.hzn) will fail to allow configuring IP Address.

Resolution

  • Delete the additional file from directory /etc/systemd/network.
  • Update the networking configurations using below steps:

1.Access the VMware Identity Manager appliance console in vCenter and login as root.
    2.Run the following command:
    /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net

3.Assign the IP address using option 6, followed by the Gateway, option 2.

4.Confirm changes by checking the current configuration, option 0.
5.Validate IP address is reachable in network.
