Issue/Introduction

  •  In VCF 9.0 brownfield environments, iSCSI is not a storage option available when trying to commission a host. It is available in greenfield environments.

 

 

Environment

VCF 9.x

 

Cause

iSCSi is not an available option in brownfield setups. It is available in greenfield setups only.

Resolution

First add hosts to vCenter and then configure iSCSI settings.  Then run an inventory sync in VCF Operations Manager to recognize new hosts.

  1. From the Home tab, select Inventory > VCF.

  2. On the VMware Cloud Foundation page, select the SDDC Manager that you want to sync.

  3. Select Actions > Sync Inventory.

  4. Click Initiate Sync to refresh the inventory.
