Issue/Introduction

We are receiving the following messages at startup:

10:19:59:  *OPS0032S OPSTART1 REQUESTED SHUTDOWN - CODE = SYSCHK1

10:20:00:  OPS3033E STORAGE POOL NOT IN USE (1  )

10:20:00:  OPS0071E MSF - FREE OF MSF STORAGE POOL FAILED, RC=8

10:20:00:  OPS0018W storage not released - ECSA X'0000930A' bytes

10:20:00:  OPS0017I OPS/MVS-JES2 subsystem OPSM termination complete

Cause

 

 

Resolution

Check for the following potential causes and take the appropriate action:

1) The dataset doesn't exist
2) OPS doesn't have permission to allocate it
3) The dataset name is wrong in the OPSSPA00 member

In one case, defining the dataset and ensuring it was in the OPSSPA00 member corrected the issue.

In another case, the messages above were proceeded by ACF2 messages, which had to be resolved.
