VRLI page getting error "Failed to download field. The list of fields is incomplete" while opening the Dashboard in the UI.

Issue/Introduction

• When accessing the Dashboard > Overview page, the following error appears:
  • Error: "Failed to download field. The list of fields is incomplete"


• When accessing the Management > Cluster page, the following error appears:
  • Error: "Request failed, 500: Internal Service Error"


• When testing the connection in the Aria Operations UI > Administrator > Integrations > Aria Operations for Logs (adapter instance), the following error appears (after a few tries):
  • Error: "Operations for Logs authentication failed. Invalid credentials"


• Aria Operations for Logs Management Pack is triggering the following alert constantly:
  
  • The alert is triggered and then automatically cancelled in the next collection cycle.
  • Alert: "Adapter instance object has error status"

Environment

• VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.16.x
• VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

One of the nodes cannot authenticate with VMware Identity Manager or with the local users.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, see the steps below:

1. Disable the VMware Identity Manager under Configuration > Authentication.
2. Click Save.
3. Re-enable the VMware Identity Manager.
