vIDM appliance VM console stuck during boot after CSP-102092 patch installation

Issue/Introduction

The vIDM appliance fails to boot correctly after the CSP-102092 patch, displaying "[ OK ] Reached target Cloud-init target" and not proceeding to the expected blue screen.

Environment

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Resolution

NOTE: This issue occurs when the getty service is not started, as mentioned on KB CSP-102092 Patch Instructions for VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7 

On the vIDM appliance where the patch was applied, run the following commands to resolve the boot issues :

SSH into the vIDM node(s) using the root account and run the commands below :

systemctl enable [e-mail]
systemctl start [e-mail]
