LocalManager certificate is expiring

Issue/Introduction

• Reviewing the NSX certificates on the System > Certificates page of the NSX UI shows Expiring in the Validity column for the LocalManager certificate.
• The Expire Date value for this LocalManager certificate is within 30 days of the present date.
• An alarm might be generated stating Certificate Expiration Approaching or Certificate Is About To Expire.

Resolution

The preferred method for replacing an expiring or expired self-signed local manager certificate in NSX versions earlier than 4.2 is to use the CARR script. This is documented in Using Certificate Analyzer, Results and Recovery (CARR) Script to fix certificate related issues in NSX.
