After deploying VLR 9.0.3, the site recovery plugin fails to deploy. Below error is seen when we navigate to vSphere Client > Menu > Site Recovery
http failure response for https://<hostname>/ui/draasclientplugin/rest/services/getLocalVcs: 500 OK
Appliances are configured using CA signed certificate and the certificate was generated using shortname
Launching the VAMI page for the VLR appliance using the fqdn, certain options like syslog forwarding and storage replication adapters are missing
Launching the same VAMI page using IP address in the URL displays all the options
VMware Live Recovery 9.0.3
This issue occurs because the certificates are configured using short name that cannot be resolved via DNS.
From /opt/vmware/support/logs/drconfigui/dr-config.log we can see below events indicating DNS mismatch
2025-09-18 14:02:18,630 [srm-reactive-thread-136] WARN com.vmware.dr.configservice.taskMonitor.ConfigureTaskHandler 54b9f447-####-####-####-3########### getConfigureTaskProgress - Task finished with error!(drConfig.fault.CertificateDnsMismatch)
To resolve this, regenerate the certificate using fully qualified domain name. Please refer the below document for steps to change the VMware Live Recovery Appliance Certificate
Change the VMware Live Recovery Appliance Certificate
Reconfigure the appliance after certificate renewal - Reconfigure the VMware Live Recovery Appliance
After regenerating the certificates, if same issues are observed, clear the browser cache or use another browser or a private/incognito window
