Issue/Introduction

During IPL System Started tasks wait within ACF9CVER, ACF2 Subsystem does not start, and the system hangs. What can cause this?

Component: ACF2MS

Resolution

If the unit esoteric which is specified in the SYSUT1 DD backup work file in the
ACF2 PROC is not defined or not available, ACF2 will not start because of a JCL error which in
turn will cause a system hang.

Other symptoms include message 'IEE132i - device allocation error.' during IPL.
