Issue/Introduction

When the virtual machine is powered on, the guest OS enters emergency mode, and it becomes unusable.

This might be occurred after the VM was powered off instead of shutting down the guest OS.

Cause

Powering off a VM might cause the data corruption inside the guest OS. 

Resolution

Engage the guest OS vendor for the reason of entering emergency mode and the resolution.
