UMA failing rendered manifests contain a resource that already exists

Issue/Introduction

UMA Upgrade is failing with the following error:

# helm upgrade --install uma-monitor . -f values.yaml -n caapm-hml
Error: UPGRADE FAILED: rendered manifests contain a resource that already exists. Unable to continue with update: Service "controller" in namespace "caapm-hml" exists and cannot be imported into the current release: invalid ownership metadata; label validation error: missing key "app.kubernetes.io/managed-by": must be set to "Helm"; annotation validation error: missing key "meta.helm.sh/release-name": must be set to "uma-monitor"; annotation validation error: missing key "meta.helm.sh/release-namespace": must be set to "caapm-hml"'

Environment

DX O2 UMA Agent 25.8.1.8

Resolution

Please follow the procedure below:

• Delete Acc-controller deployment
• Delete Controler Service
• Delete Uma Helm
• Install New Helm

Additional Information

If user have installed kafka and ibmmqia monitoring separately using apmia deployments, customer can continue using it.
In case if customer has installed kafka and ibmmqia monitoring using UMA, user must enable it in UMA helm values.yaml.
