Support for TKGm 2.5.4 in Container Service Extension

Issue/Introduction

Container Service Extension 4.2.3 currently only supports TKGm versions 2.5.2 and below.

Due to the versions, Customers are exposed to vulnerabilities addressed in later versions of TKGm (2.5.3, 2.5.4).

Environment

• VMware Cloud Director CSE Server 4.2.2
• VMware Cloud Director CSE Plugin 4.2.3
• VMware Cloud Director 10.6.0.1

Resolution

Broadcom Engineering are aware of this limitation and are looking to add support for TKGm 2.5.4 in an upcoming release of Container Service Extension.

The release of Container Service Extension is tentatively set for release early 2026.

 

Note:

• Due to other limitations and factors, support for TKGm 2.5.4 will not be available prior to this timeframe.
• TKGm 2.5.3 was never certified against CSE as it did not support any additional versions of Kubernetes.

Additional Information

• Kubernetes version 1.30 is the latest version supported with TKGm version 2.5.2.
• Kubernetes versions 1.31-1.33 will be supported with TKGm version 2.5.4.
