License assignment to vSphere components fails from SDDC manager

Issue/Introduction

• While assigning licenses to vSphere components(ESXi/vCenter/vSAN), the operation fails with error "UPDATE_LICENSES operation validation failed due to: UPDATE_LICENSES operation cannot be performed on resource ###### as these checks have failed. Failed to evaluate lambda class LambdaInputRest"
   
  
• Logs show that VxRail Manager is unreachable with errors "No route to host" and "Failed to establish SSH session to <VxRail Manager FQDN" :
  

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x

Cause

This happens if VxRail Manager VM is powered down or unreachable.

Resolution

Power on the VxRail Manager VM & ensure that it is up and reachable. Please engage Dell for assistance if VxRail manager is inaccessible.
