During the vSphere Supervisor upgrade process, the spherelet agent on the ESXi hosts has not updated to the new version

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading the Supervisor deployment to the next version such as 1.30.10, the control plane nodes reflect the new version, while the host agents still list the previous 1.29.3 version.

Environment

• vSphere 8.0
• vSphere 9.0

Cause

Lifecycle Manager will prevent the ESXi cluster from being updated if there is an image compatibility issue, or the cluster is in an unhealthy state.

Resolution

Verify if there are any issues that may be affecting the ESXi cluster such as:

• An unhealthy vSAN disk group
• Lifecycle Manager cluster compliancy
