Hosts with mismatched NTP configuration alert in vCenter Skyline Health

Issue/Introduction

When you run Skyline Health you get the following alert.

Hosts with mismatched NTP configuration.

ESXi hosts must be synchronized to the same NTP server in order to avoid any system clock time differences between the hosts.  Hosts grouped by their NTP configuration can be found in the finding details.  Click the Ask VMware link above for more details and a resolution.

Environment

vCenter 7.x

vCenter 8.x

Cause

• NTP is not configured.  Click on the "Troubleshoot" button to see which hosts do not have NTP configured.
• There may also be a configuration mismatch between between all the hosts in all of the clusters in the same vCenter.

Resolution

• Follow KB Configure Network Time Protocol (NTP) on the ESXi to configure NTP.
• All of the hosts in all of the clusters under the same vCenter must have the same NTP configurations to not trigger the alert.
