Issue/Introduction

  • The replication shows "Fail-Over" state on on the Incoming Replications view of the VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA) Portal for the affected replication.
  • The replication is still synchronizing and creating instances but the state is not correct.
  • The options to failover, test-failover and migrate are grayed.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3

Cause

The cause for this issue is an inconsistency between the replicator and manager Data Bases caused by a failed replication task like Test-Failover, Failover or Migration.

Resolution

To resolve this problem reboot the Manager VM.

  • Log in to the management interface of the Manager Appliance:
  • In a Web browser, go to https://Appliance-IP-Address/ui/admin
  • Select Appliance login or SSO login and enter the root or the single sign-on user credentials.
    Click Login.
  • In the left pane, click System Health.
  • In the System health page, click Reboot VM.
  • In the Reboot VM window, to confirm the restart operation click Reboot.
