Issue/Introduction

Summary page of vCenter Server Management Interface (VAMI) shows Overall Health & Memory in Alert Status with the message: "Appliance is running low on memory. Add more memory to the machine."

Environment

vCenter Server 7.x

vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

Memory usage exceeds 80% for the vCenter Server Appliance.

Resolution

You can ignore the alert if it is temporary, there are no issues caused by memory usage and the vCenter Server Appliance's hardware size matches that of your vSphere environment.

Please check for any other alarms to confirm whether this issue is just temporary and can be ignored.
