Issue/Introduction

Coding a DD DSN=NULLFILE or DUMMY in a concatenated list of DD DSN cards will generate an end of file . If any DD DSN files follow the NULLFILE, they will not be processed.

 

For example: 

NOTE: DSN=a.b.3 will not be read

 

SYSUT1  DD  DISP=SHR,DSN=a.b.1

                DD   DISP=SHR,DSN=a.b.2

                DD   DUMMY

                DD   DISP=SHR,DSN=a.b.3

 

Resolution

All DSNs that need to be read should be moved before the DD DSN=NULLFILE or DD DUMMY statement(s).

 

For example: 

NOTE: DSN=a.b.3 will be read

 

SYSUT1  DD  DISP=SHR,DSN=a.b.1

                DD   DISP=SHR,DSN=a.b.2

                DD   DISP=SHR,DSN=a.b.3

                DD   DUMMY
