One user unable to login to Web Viewer (CAHVS0260E Authentication Failed)

Issue/Introduction

One specific user USER1 is not able to login to Web Viewer 14.0. All colleagues have no issue with access.
See error messages below from log:

The Mainframe Security team for ACF2 / RACF has confirmed this is an application related issue.

Environment

Output Management Web Viewer™ for z/OS 14.0

Cause

As the problem only impacts one user the root cause could be user password specific.
it was found the user had a special character "#" in their password.

Resolution

After changing the password to only have alphanumeric characters the login was successful.
