Replication Failed After DigiCert Certificate Applied to ESXi Hosts — “No connection to VR Server" error

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Following the administrator’s installation of a DigiCert certificate on the ESXi hosts, VM replication failed and returned the error below:

A replication error occurred at the vSphere Replication Server for replication 'VM_Name'. Details: 'No connection to VR Server for virtual machine VM_Name on host ESXI_Name in cluster Cloud in Cluster_Name: Unknown'.

hbr-agent.log showed the following message:

error hbrsrv[01353] [Originator@6876 sub=Main groupID=GID-################ opID=hsl-0]    [0] Thumbprint ##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:## is not allowed to send replication data
error hbrsrv[01353] [Originator@6876 sub=Main groupID=GID-############################# opID=hsl-0]    [1] Converting error to wire failure

Environment

vSphere Live Recovery 9.x

Resolution

In Host Client, select Host >> Manage >> Services and select the service to restart.                                                                                      Restart hbrsrv and hbr-agent services on all the ESXI hosts.
