The resize of NSX edge failed with error Config_Edit_Failed

Issue/Introduction
The error was reported when edge resize from large to extra large was in progress. The edge resize was triggered using the procedure listed in the following KB article

Cause
Edge node resizing is accomplished by deleting each Edge node VM in turn and recreating it using the desired form factor. The error message "Config_Edit_Failed" is received when VM related configuration on virtual center or ESX host experiences issue.
One of the examples of the error condition is the backup triggered snapshot process activation on edge VM during the redeployment of the edge VM. The snapshot starts quiescing the operating system. The quiescing process impacts the edge node communication with the NSX manager node. Due to the absence of healthy communication between NSX edge & manager node, the new resized edge deployment fails.
Resolution
Keep the NSX manager and its components excluded from snapshot based backup.

After addressing virtual center or ESX side issue re-run the edge resize script.
