Issue/Introduction

The user has been given the global right - Reporting - Data Provider - View All , when they click on the Report Designer, they are not able to see a list of Data Providers.

  1. Create a user with global access to all the data providers and so they can create reports under Report Designer and view reports under the Report Viewer:

Exact permissions to grant to this user:

  • Reporting - Data Provider - View All
  • Reporting - Navigate
  • Reporting - Report Designer - Create
  • Reporting - Reports - Navigate

2.  Log in as the same user, go to Reporting and attempt to create a report and associate a data provider:

 

Expected Results: When creating a report, the user should see a list of all of the active data providers in the system without requiring the "Reporting - Data Provider - Navigate" right.

Actual Results: The user sees none of the active data providers in the system.

Workaround:  Grant the permission "Reporting - Data Provider - Navigate", and the user will be able to see the data providers.
