Issue/Introduction

This article addresses the requirement to limit the number of concurrent UI or API sessions a single user can establish with VMware NSX Manager.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Resolution

There is no configuration setting or workaround to enforce a limit on concurrent user sessions in the current version of VMware NSX Manager. This is the expected behavior of the product.

The limitation is due to the distributed design of the NSX Manager cluster, where user session information is not shared between the individual nodes. As a result, a cluster-wide count of a user's sessions cannot be tracked or enforced.
