Pre-check error for vcenter upgrade on SDDC "Bundle validation for bundle of type VCENTER with version 8.x failed due to error"

Issue/Introduction

Getting below error when  pre-check  was run for the second attempt of vcenter upgrade-
"Bundle validation for  bundle of type VCENTER with version 8.x failed due to error"

Environment

SDDC 5.2.0.0

vCenter 7.0u3v

Cause

Previous failed attempt of vcenter upgrade through sddc would have created the appliance. The pre-check code will fail for the stale entry of the previous failed attempt.

From the lcm-debug.log log , we see that it's failing after fetching the file  from  /var/log/vmware/vcf/lcm/vcenter/3abxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/precheck .

*Upon checking pre-check log, we get following error-

"Running precheck:ApplianceName' execution failed because  [ApplianceName: xxxxx] already exists on the target ESXi"

Resolution

Delete the unused temporary appliance that got created during the upgrade process.
