"This system is not QuickBoot Compatible" - QuickBoot check fails on Amazon EC2 i4i.metal

Issue/Introduction

• Running QuickBoot compatibility check fails on Amazon EC2 i4i.metal with below error messages

esx##:~ ] /usr/lib/vmware/loadesx/bin/loadESXCheckCompat.py
BmcInfoImpl: Retrieve Version information failed
BmcInfoImpl: Retrieve Version information failed
This system is not QuickBoot compatible: violating one or more soft requirements (usage of Quick Boot is not recommended)

The host does not fulfill the following soft dependencies:
- Host platform is not supported:
- Amazon EC2, i4i.metal

Environment

• VCF 5.2.1
• ESXi 8.0 U3b
• VCF 9.0
• ESX 9.0

Cause

This is caused due to difference in the product label introduced by Amazon.

Resolution

Currently there is no resolution. Broadcom Engineering is working towards allowing the product label in future release.
