VMware Live Recovery DR UI becomes inaccessible post site disconnection

Issue/Introduction

Accessibility of DR UI plugin fails when connection between sites are disconnected.

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 9.X

Cause

DNS IP were added to both Production and Disaster Recovery site.

SRM instance is trying to resolve names using a DNS server across a WAN link to the other site, that introduces latency. And if the remote DNS server is unavailable or slow, it can significantly degrade the local DR performance.

Resolution

It is not recommended to have both DNS IPs entered on both the Production and Disaster Recovery sites, unless reliable connectivity is ensured to the remote DNS.
