Issue/Introduction

There are a bunch of files in the log buffer directory following an incident with the dSeries server.

What needs to be done with these files?

Is it permissible to delete them?

Workload Automation DE (dSeries)

Resolution

• The buffer log captures all communication between the DE Server and the database.
• By default, the server archives and retains one buffer log file. These logs are particularly useful for troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
• You can safely delete buffer logs from the log buffer directory.
• Alternatively, if you have a scheduled maintenance window, you can remove the entire buffer directory. A new directory will be automatically created when the server restarts.
