Issue/Introduction

The newly deployed DSM 2.2.3 in the vSphere 9 environment shows the following error in the DSM Configure Section:
VCF - VApiRestRequest to 'https://vc01.local/api/ui/session/sso/local-domain/saml-token' failed. Cause: Could not complete operation to the remote destination. Check server logs for details.

 

Environment

VMware Data Services Manager 2.2.3

Cause

 The user name used to deploy the Data Services Manager does not have the minimum required privileges. 

As per the DSM Deployment Guide, vCenter administrator credentials or a user with the required minimum permissions is needed.

Resolution

Log in with the [email protected] account and try again.

If you are using an AD user and it is not working, the AD user needs to be added to the global permissions and administrator role in the vCenter root folder.
