Data Repository upgrade is unable to proceed as Vertica cannot stop while users are connected

Issue/Introduction

The following message is displayed

Unable to shutdown database drdata.
Unexpected output from shutdown: Shutdown:
aborting shutdown
NOTICE: Cannot shut down while users are connected
This is because other users still have active sessions or the Management Console is still active.

Cause

The Data Aggregator (and any vsql sessions) are still up and running. 

Resolution

You will need to stop the Data Aggregator dadaemon process and disconnect from any vsql sessions before being able to stop Vertica.
