Google has introduced a new 16 KB page size compatibility requirement for Android apps. Applications that do not meet this requirement may receive warnings in the Google Play Console and risk being blocked from updates or new releases if not compliant by the set deadline.
This article provides guidance for customers who are impacted by this requirement and outlines the steps to request an extension directly from Google Play.

Some applications may display one of the following warnings in the Google Play Console:
“Memory page size: Does not support 16 KB”
“Your app is affected by Google Play’s 16 KB page size compatibility requirement.”
Important Note:
It is not mandatory that all customers will receive this warning.
Out-of-the-box (OOTB), our SDKs are not impacted.
However, if customers have explicitly configured their applications to use a 4 KB page size during app development, then they may see this warning in the Google Play Console.
While engineering teams are working on SDK updates to address this requirement, we recommend that affected developers request an extension from Google Play. This ensures apps remain publishable and updates can continue while SDK upgrades are finalized.
Google provides an extension option that, once approved, extends the deadline until May 31, 2026. The attachment contains the detailed note with the exact extension request instructions
This extension is temporary and intended as a bridge solution while waiting for SDK updates.
Customers should still plan to migrate their apps to be fully compliant with the 16 KB page size requirement before the extended deadline.
For SDK update timelines and support, please follow communications from our engineering and product teams.
If customers have explicitly configured their applications to use a 4 KB page size during app development, then they may see this warning in the Google Play Console.
We will continue to keep this KB updated on the SDK upgrade progress and provide guidance wherever required. Please open a support case if you would prefer us to walk your developers through this process on a call, as we want to make sure there are no blockers from your side.
