Symantec Protection Engine (SPE) can scan files and directories located on Network Attached Storage (NAS).

However, it is important to note that SPE does not support performing a full manual scan across the entire contents of a drive, as Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) does.

This is because SPE functions as a passive scanning engine, designed to inspect files individually as they are accessed, transferred, or requested. It is not intended to conduct complete on-demand scans of all files within a drive or volume
