Following the update of the vCenter Server password, the Usage Meter UI reports the error: "Credentials Verification Failure."

Issue/Introduction

  • After the vCenter Server password has been updated, the Usage Meter user interface indicates the following error: "Credentials Verification Failure."
  • Usage Meter is no longer metering this vCenter Server instance.

Environment

VCF Usage Meter 9.x

Cause

The vCenter Server instance in Usage Meter remains configured with the previous password.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, do the following:

  1. In the main menu bar of the VCF usage meter Web interface, click Products.
  2. In the left pane, select Cloud > vCenter.
  3. On the vCenter page, locate the product vCenter Server instance you want to edit and click EDIT.
  4. To edit the password, click the pen icon located in the Endpoint text box.
  5. In the Password text box,enter the new password for the instance.
  6. Click Save.

Additional Information

There is no requirement to accept or verify the vCenter Server certificate.
