Issue/Introduction

  • From within vCenter > Inventory > Workload Management the following warning is displayed. 

    System pod nsx-ncp-[ID] in namespace vmware-system-nsx is not running.

  • From the master node the NCP pod is continuously crashing.

root@[ID] [ ~ ]# k get pod -A | grep nsx
vmware-system-nsx                           nsx-ncp-[ID]                                          1/2     CrashLoopBackOff

  • NCP pod logs show the process terminates due to expired licence.

    kubectl logs nsx-ncp-[ID] -n vmware-system-nsx  -p

    [ncp GreenThread-49 W] nsx_ujo.common.controller NamespaceController worker 1 failed to sync [UUID] due to nsx manager exception: This feature is not supported with the current applied license.   • The NSX Manager does not contain a valid licence under NSX Manager > System > Licences
