Issue/Introduction

  • Error message appears in SDDC manager when doing the pre-check for upgrading the vCenter
  • vSphere SHA1 validation failed
  • Description: Check if HSA1 certificate is present in the vCenter

Environment

vSphere vCenter server 7.x

SDDC Manager

Cause

  • ESXi host and SDDC manager out of sync

Resolution

  • When updating to version 8.0. renewing certificate is not sufficient, you need to refresh the certificate
  • Under system -> certificates -> manage certificates -> refresh certificate
