Safari 26, released as part of iOS 26, introduces new privacy features that impact ads and analytics. This is part of Apple's broader privacy strategy.

• Device Fingerprinting Restrictions
  • Technique used by advertisers to identify users based on their device and browser configuration, fonts, plug-ins, and other characteristics
  • Restricts access to APIs that could reveal device characteristics like screen dimensions, CPU cores and others
  • Restricts browser fingerprinting
  • This restriction is now turned on by default for all browsing, not just Private Browsing
  • Apple’s directional strategy is to disrupt traditional methods of data collection, requiring marketers to adapt their operations to prioritize user privacy and direct relationships with customers.

Resolution

Advanced Auth Eng team has concluded the testing of the upgrade from iOS 18 to iOS 26 release also tested on Safari browser version 26 and did not see any impact on the Device Fingerprint and no MFA was required after this upgrade.
