Issue/Introduction

Risk attributes seen on NPIOs (e.g., 'Service', 'Application', 'Asset') are not available on Custom Investment Types (CITs).

When recreating processes to work woth the new CIT, we've found it doesn't have the default "Risk" numeric field, despite it being an investment attribute.

Is there something we are missing? Is this attribute not available for CIs for some reason?

Environment

Clarity 16.3.3 Studio and Modern UX

Cause

This is an expected behavior and not due to any missing configuration. Non-Project Investment Objects (NPIOs) and Custom Investment Types (CITs) have distinct underlying object structures in Clarity PPM. The Risk fields you observe on NPIOs are by design not included in the standard template for Custom Investments.

Resolution

Workaround if you require similar Risk attribute functionality for your Custom Investment Types, you will need to:

  1. Manually Create Attributes: In Classic Studio, create new attributes on your CITs that mimic the settings and structure of the desired Risk attributes found on NPIO objects.
  2. Migrate Data: After creating these new attributes, you will need to migrate any relevant existing data into them.
