Adding a Storage Policy to the Organization VDC fails with the error “cannot be parsed correctly”

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to add Storage Policies in the VMware Cloud Director UI, the operation fails with a parsing error. This occurs when the Provider VDC has 128 or more Storage Policies registered.

Symptoms:

• • The following error is displayed in the UI: The reference https://VCD_FQDN.example.com/cloudapi/1.0.0/pvdcStoragePolicies?... cannot be parsed correctly
  • The addition of Storage Policies to the organization VDC fails.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

Adding more than 128 Storage Policies to a Provider VDC causes the retrieval and parsing of storage policies for the Organization VDC to fail due to a known limitation.

Resolution

This is resolved in VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1.2. If there is a re-occurrence engage with Broadcom VCF support.

Workaround:
Maintain the number of storage policies added to Provider VDC below 128.
