Issue/Introduction

You receive an error while trying to turn on turn on the disk LED using the ESX command line interface:

#esxcli storage core device set -d naa.xxx --led-state error
Unable to set LED state for device naa.xxx: Not supported!

Environment

  • VCF 9.x
  • lsuv2-lsiv2-drivers-plugin

Cause

The ERROR LED operation is not supported for lsuv2-lsiv2-drivers-plugin

Resolution

  • You can still turn on the from the vCenter WebClient or using the below command on the ESXi:

esxcli storage core device set -d naa.xxx --led-state locator --led-duration 100

  • \There is no impact on the vCenter for the disk turn on/off LED operations
