From vCenter UI, vSAN cluster > Monitor > vSAN skyline health > Health score trend > view details.
Health history displays recorded dates of health errors, and clicking on any of these dates does not reveal specifics of the health concerns.
Instead, this message is displayed:
"No data available for the selected time period"
/var/log/vmware/vsan-health/vmware-vsan-health-summary-result.log from vCenter is reporting health results and details as expected.
restarting vCenter services or rebooting vCenter does not fix the issue.
VMware vSAN 7.x
VMware vSAN 8.x
vCenter version is on lower build compared to ESXi version.
Upgrade vCenter to a build that is equal to or greater than the ESXi version.
vCenter Server uses APIs and protocols to communicate with ESXi hosts. A newer version of vCenter is designed to understand and utilize the features and capabilities of newer ESXi versions, ensuring a stable and compatible connection.
vCenter Server must be version equal to or higher than the ESXi hosts it manages to ensure compatibility, proper communication, and full feature functionality. An ESXi host running a newer version than the vCenter Server is generally unsupported and can lead to issues with features like High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), vMotion, and vSAN health checks
The vSAN health check feature, in particular, depends on the vCenter and ESXi versions being at an equal or newer level for reliable communication and accurate health reporting.
