Issue/Introduction

Cloud templates that are shared across all projects in the organization are not visible or mappable when creating an onboarding plan, despite being accessible.

Cloud templates shared organization-wide are not populating as options when creating an onboarding plan, preventing their mapping and use.

Environment

Aria Automation 8.18.x

Cause

Selecting a blueprint from a different project and allowing updates based on that blueprint causes more issues like quota mismatches, incorrect cloud zones or storage classes and so on. So to prevent such issues, we added the restriction to only allow selection of templates that created for the same project and in valid state.

This change for only allowing selection of templates belonging to the same project as the plan was intentional and done as part of architectural change.

Resolution

Given the current design constraints, a viable workaround is to clone the template for the same project as the onboarding plan. This approach ensures alignment with the system's intended functionality and allows for a seamless onboarding process without encountering potential issues.

Cloning the template for the same project as the onboarding plan is a recommended solution because it adheres to the system's design and prevents complications such as quota mismatches or incorrect configurations. By adopting this approach, users can ensure a stable and compliant onboarding process for their projects.

Workaround Steps:

1. Identify the cloud template you wish to use.
2. Clone the template within the same project as the onboarding plan.
3. Use the cloned template in the onboarding plan.

By following these steps, you should be able to proceed with the onboarding process without encountering the template mapping issue.
