Issue/Introduction

While trying to edit the CPU allocation for OVDC, error encountered: Maximum provisioned network count of xx exceeds the capacity of the selected network pool.

Based on the above error, when trying to edit the Maximum Provisioned Network count in Network pool for the OVDC, another error being encountered: Maximum provisioned network count of xx exceeds the capacity of the selected network pool.

Environment

vCloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This is due to the specific OVDC is showing as 'Sub-Provider'.

If right 'Administer and traverse into other organizations' is published to any tenant under any Rights Bundle, it will show tenant as 'Sub-Provider'.

Resolution

To resolve this the following Right needs to be removed:

  • Select the "Default Sub-Provider Entitlement" Rights Bundle.
  • Disable the right "Administer and traverse into other organizations".
  • Disable "Publish to Tenants", publish the "Default Sub-Provider Entitlement" Rights Bundle.
  • Check if any other Rights Bundle which is published to the specific tenant has the similar rights. If there is any Generic Rights Bundle or Custom Rights Bundle which has the right "Administer and traverse into other organizations", please disable and publish to tenant.
