Issue/Introduction

• You observe the following error in the VMware Live Site Recovery (VLSR) UI while discovering the Array Pairs.

“SRA Command 'discoverArrays' failed. Failed to connect to the array Management host. Please check EmcSrdfSra log file for more information on the error.”

Environment

• VMware Live Site Recovery (VLSR) 8.x
• VMware Live Site Recovery (VLSR) 9.x

Cause

The cause is related to the following error messages originated on the  SRA (Storage Replication Adapter)  which causes VMware Live Site Recovery (VLSR) UI to show the error indicated above:

• The following errors were captured in /opt/vmware/support/logs/srm/SRAs/sha256_********/EmcSrdfSra.log:

• [20250903165114  4319   136 [email protected]        ] [ERROR]: Failed to perform SymInit().

  [ERROR]: [SYMAPI_C_NO_NET_SERVICE_FOUND : A requested network service was not found in the service file]

This error is sent by the SRA (Storage Replication Adapter) which is written and supported by the Storage Vendor.

Resolution

Contact SRA (Storage Replication Adapter) Vendor to troubleshoot and fix the SRA (Storage Replication Adapter)  errors.
