Issue/Introduction

The following error message appears in the journal log of the vCenter Server:

MM DD hh:mm:ss xxxx python[3033259]: rbd [3033259]networkutil:ERROR:127.0.0.1 : hostAddr is either loopback or link-local

Environment

vCenter Server

Cause

This output is related to services related to vSphere Auto Deploy, and may be recorded due to internal operations of the vCenter Server, regardless of whether the service is in use or not.

Resolution

It's a harmless message.
