Issue/Introduction

Despite a lot of DASD have been added, SMS and SMSPARE refreshed the 
VAN1507E Could not find Spare SMS Volumes for Storage Group %8S message continue to be displayed when the following script is running

Resolution

To refresh the SMSPARE DASD added under ISMF for Vantage the following commands must be executed:

F SAMS,NEWSCAN,POOLS 

F SAMS,REFRESH,SMSSPARE

OR

Restart VANTAGE STC .
