Introduction:

CA eHealth can manage Cisco IP SLA Jitter and run reports on a jitter response path.

Question:

How does CA eHealth manage Cisco IP SLA Jitter Testing?

Environment:

Any Operating System any eHealth Version

Answer:

Using Path Management in the CA eHealth web interface (select Element Configuration, Resource Discovery, Path Management from the World View tree), you can create response path elements to test jitter from the Cisco routers to other destinations, it is needed that the Cisco routers supports IP SLA. You can discover them to create response source elements and monitor these paths to determine whether your network can support your voice traffic needs.

Additional Information:

Reports on a jitter response path can be run to monitor several factors such as incoming and outgoing jitter. If problems occur, these reports can help you to determine whether the problem is somewhere between your routers or between the phones and the LAN switches.
